  1. Thanks camano that's is a great compliment comming from you. Your work it too notch and I always enjoy seeing it.
  2. Yes it is hand stitched and I did predrill the holes. The blade itself is .28" thick and Plus I also wanted to make the sheath as thick as the handle so it would not hang past the edges. I could have used a wedge up top but really prefer the look of everything the same width.
  3. This pic is the middle of the sheath. Not even where a belt loop is.
  4. Just went and measured and it's actual a bit over 3/4".
  5. My brothers Scrapyard 1311 needed some new pants so I decided to give it a whirl. This thing is a beast of a sheath,6 layers of 8oz thick and 7 layers where the belt loops are on the back. The inlays and overlays are Elephant hide. Man that elephant is seriously tough. I couldn't scratch it if I tried. It was still pretty easy to work with though. The altoids tin pouch is removable and could be mounted to a pack if needed as well. The top of the Esse fire steel also unscrews and will hold more kit as needed. All in all I really like the way it turned out.
  6. Thanks and no I didn't put anything on the copper. It's already almost 2 months old in these pics and it is starting to tarnish a little but I like the look that it gets as it tarnishes. Gives it an aged old world type look I'm hoping.
  7. Thanks guys. The dog is an American Bulldog. He is still just a pup. Only about a year and a half old.
  8. My brothers dog needed a new collar so I worked something up for him. I bought a strip of copper from the hardware store and cut, drilled, and sanded it to make some decoration for it. I also hand bent it in order make it fit over the leash attachment point. Used copper rivets but couldn't find any copper buckles. Then did some lacing along the outside of it. Also decided to work up a leash to kind of match it. Let me know what you guys think.
  9. Did anyone ever figure out this pattern. I am looking forward to giving one these a try.
  10. Thank gafer, Springfield Leather often has it in their exotic leather section. Not to expensive either compared to other exotics.
  11. They look great. I love the inlays on the glock OWB and mag pouch as well as the IWB design.
  12. Thanks Monica. You can get sea snake from Springfield leather in their exotics section.
  13. Thank you very much guys. Wishful, I didn't have to treat the edges. The sea snake is wrapped all the way around the veg tanned and glued and stitched.
  14. I posted this up top but figured I would put it in this section as well. Had a little more free time and my friends puppy needed a new collar and leash so I decided to see what I could work up. He said he wanted something that looked kind of aggressive and heavy duty. I had a nice piece of sea snake that I had been wanting to use on something and thought it would look nice with the dogs brindle coat so wrapped it around a 1.5" piece 8oz veg tanned and put some regular spikes as well as some bigger skull spikes also. Went with a double buckle setup for a more heavy duty look and feel. Lined it with a 2" piece of 8oz black latigo. For the leash I braided some 8oz latigo and used some white powder coated chain for the bottom half. I doubled the chain over so it coud be used as a handle if he wants to choke up on the leash. It is defiantly heavy duty to say the least but I like the way it all came out and I think it looked pretty nice on the pup. Let me know what you think.

  16. Well I finally had a little free time and got a chance to make this for my friends S&W Bodyguard 380. I am pleased with how it came out but next time I will move the stitches out a little bit more around the trigger guard and make sure to keep my stitches the same all the time. I think I positioned the thread wrong in few places. I didt get a pic with the belt loops on it. He wanted IWB loops and being plastic bender I went with some kydex loops to keep it nice slim. I'll try to get a pic with the loops later. Let me know what you guys think of my second attempt.
  17. As northmount said just start off with the pieces a little wider than you need. Put in your spots, glue the lining, and then trim both pieces down to the correct size you want as if they were one piece.
  18. Looks great. The pistol looks to be a HK P7. One of my favorite pistols of all time.
  19. Well I've been lurking around the site for awhile and after seeing some of the amazing stuff you guys and gals make it motivated me to get to work. I have only been working with leather for a few months now and really enjoy it. I have done a holster and knife sheath but I really enjoyed making this collar the most. My wife wanted a girly name tag for our dog to go with it so I gave that a shot as well. I inlayed (first try) some maroon alligator embossed cowhide on one side and put her name on the other. I plan on just letting it hang off the buckle but have not decide how I'm going to hang it. Let me know what you guys think. The holster was for IWB carry so I ended up putting some kydex clips on it. The knife sheath has great retention and I really like the way it came out for my first one.
  20. Thank you very much. The white is actually 8-9 veg tan that I used Eco flow to color.
