mtnleather Report post Posted February 18, 2015 The title says it all. I have the opportunity to purchase a Consew 756R and was wondering if that machine can handle sewing knife sheaths, which is primarily all it will be used for. Any info or opinions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Jeff
CowboyBob Report post Posted February 18, 2015 Yes,it should work as long as it's not wornout. It takes the same needles & bobbins as a 441 style machine BUT the feet are different, they only fit the 756 so you won't be able to get any other type of feet other than the standard double toe which you could cutoff one side to get closer to the edges. mtnleather Report post Posted February 18, 2015 Thank you so much for the quick response and info. I know nothing about sewing machines, all of the sheaths I build for my knives are hand stitched. As the demand for my leather sheath options and the level of detail wanted in the sheaths has risen dramatically, it is really starting to cut into my time and profit. I am going to get a Cobra 4 (I think that's what it is), but I need to wait until the end of year to get it. This one I can get now and use as a spare if needed after I get the cobra. Thanks again, Jeff
catskin Report post Posted February 20, 2015 Why 9 month wait for a machine? I thought these guys keep machines in stock.
