Members Instinctive Posted March 7, 2015 Members Report Posted March 7, 2015 Continuing on with turning my 20 year old scrap bin leather into stuff for practice I decided to upgrade the sheath for my 36 year old, Nova Scotia made, Grohmann Knives skinner. Having been absent from leather working for the past 20 years, this site has been very helpful as I relearn and now improve my skill set. That's the best edge finish I have ever done using a technique I read on this forum. Quote
Members Rohn Posted March 7, 2015 Members Report Posted March 7, 2015 You are making some nice stuff with that scrap leather. Fine job. Quote
Members snubbyfan Posted March 8, 2015 Members Report Posted March 8, 2015 Very nice. I was thinkin' of diggin' into my scrap bin and seein' what I could come up with. Quote
Members Sona Posted March 9, 2015 Members Report Posted March 9, 2015 neither looks like scrap nor like 20 years old... actually it looks like selected for this specific use and finished really nice I like the design and the appearance of the sheath. Good work! Quote
Members Wild Bill46 Posted March 9, 2015 Members Report Posted March 9, 2015 I feel like Sona, Neither its age, nor its looks look the part ! And as Rohn, and Snubbyfan, I like your scrap bin. keep digging, ------ Wild Bill46 Quote
Members Instinctive Posted March 17, 2015 Author Members Report Posted March 17, 2015 Thank you. The digging will continue. It a long way to the bottom of the bin. As for the look, it been amazing what a bit of vinegar and water will do to clean the surface and what pure neetsfoot oils does to make it flex again. Quote
