Hi all. I have been sharpening my swivel knife by guesstimating the proper angle but I want a sharpening guide. I thought that I read somewhere my blade was a 65* angle. I found this one on Amazon that I was thinking about. http://www.amazon.com/Quality-Leather-Swivel-Sharpener-Leathercraft/dp/B00MUE3LV4. But reading the the information about it, it says it is on a 30* angle. I need advice from knowledgeable people and this is the perfect place to find out! Thanks

That is 30° is from a horizontal postion. 30° angle on each side of the blade equals 60°

Not sure exactly what the degrees should be on the swivel knife.

BTW... the Keen Edge is at Tandy and SLC..

I have this keen edge sharpener on my tool bench, and I 'm here to say YES it is a correct angle !

and it will make your swivel knife sharp, sharp, sharp, but it takes some diligence to get it that way.

Once there, just make it a habit to sharpen it as you use it, and it stays sharp ! ---- Wild Bill46

Check out two websites. Leather Wranglers has a step by step video on sharpening your swivel knife. The keen edge is okay, but Chuck Smith Tools has the Big Red Sharpening tool. You see it and you will know what I am talking about.

Note: You can also make some leather angle guides at different angles to help you if you absolutely need to......or get a Big Red.

Good luck
