verus22 Report post Posted May 16, 2015 (edited) I've got a friend at work who asked me to make a key lanyard for him. It's 22" long, but took about 5 hours total mainly because of the edging (all work done by hand). Edited May 16, 2015 by verus22

verus22 Report post Posted May 16, 2015 The more I look at it..the more I don't think it meets my standards...so I've decided to make another one. (I'm picky when it comes to my work.)
Wild Bill46 Report post Posted May 17, 2015 Picky, Just might be a virtue for you in the long run ? The only critique I might have is the stitching at the ends near the clasp ? Some like it, some do not, to my mind it creates an un-necessary wear spot. Just my $.02 ------ Wild Bill46
verus22 Report post Posted May 17, 2015 Wild Bill, I'm curious...how else would I close the loop and attach the clasp?
verus22 Report post Posted May 17, 2015 (edited) Wild Bill, please disregard my last comment...I think I understand what you were talking about, finally! (Too much going on today...brain not working right!!). I'm assuming that you were referring to the two threads that go over the side at the top end of the stitching. I'm not too worried about it being a wear point since it's only a key lanyard. And if someone doesn't want it, I'd be happy to not do it...after all, my main focus is bespoke work (thus, my extreme pickiness). But thanks for the observation; I really do appreciate it!! I forgot to add that the middle piece of strap extends just past the stitching, so the clasp cannot come into contact with the stitching. Wild Bill46 Report post Posted May 17, 2015 I guess you might say I'm a bit picky myself ? If I were to attempt this particular project myself, I would Skyve the outside loop end then stitch as you have done , only, I would Not stitch to the sides outward. to finish backstitch a few stitches and cut it short into the last stitch hole.
