You should be able to apply water to the underside with a note of caution. You may end up with water stains on the top end. Wet slowly and do not submerge! Quote Greetings from Central Texas! It still ain't "waterproof", . . . but it is right real good and close to it. You can add any good boot or shoe polish to it, . . . make it REALLY shine then.
