Members sympa Posted June 23, 2015 Members Report Posted June 23, 2015 I just started working with leather and or some reason, the bobbin thread is not getting picked up by the spool thread. I am using a Euro Pro 7130 machine. It works fine with every material other than leather. I've tried increasing/decreasing the tension, increasing/decreasing the stitch length/width AND I've tried fixing the timing but nothing is working! Does anyone have any advice, tips or tricks? Oh, I just wanted to add that I've sewn leather before with this machine a month ago and it worked fine. Just now it's not. Quote
Members Geneva Posted June 25, 2015 Members Report Posted June 25, 2015 This sewing machine is not designed to sew leather. It is an in home sewing machine. Quote
Members zimitt Posted June 26, 2015 Members Report Posted June 26, 2015 Try rubbing the needle with some fine 600 or 400 sandpaper to make it slide through the leather easier. The matte finish will help it glide through the leather and catch the bottom thread. Quote
Northmount Posted June 26, 2015 Report Posted June 26, 2015 The leather is probably being pulled up with the needle, lifting the presser foot. Tighten down the spring on the presser foot. Tom Quote
