veedub3 Report post Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) Very Nice! I have been thinking about ordering some some thread from RoyalWood, How is it compared to Maine thread? Karina Edited July 18, 2015 by veedub3
jk215 Report post Posted July 18, 2015 Thanks all! @veedub3 - Its good. I use Maine Thread a lot too because its cheap and easy to get but the Royalwood is much nicer. Its a lot smoother and more uniform.
Oldtoolsniper Report post Posted July 18, 2015 (edited) That is very nice. I like the design of that one. What ply thread and color is that? Edited July 18, 2015 by Oldtoolsniper
jk215 Report post Posted July 20, 2015 That is very nice. I like the design of that one. What ply thread and color is that? Thanks! It is the regular white and 7-ply.
veedub3 Report post Posted July 20, 2015 Thanks all! @veedub3 - Its good. I use Maine Thread a lot too because its cheap and easy to get but the Royalwood is much nicer. Its a lot smoother and more uniform. Thanks for your input on the thread. I was told that the Royalwood thread is Waxed Irish Linen thread, so that may have something to do with it being a lot smoother, as opposed to the waxed poly cord that Maine Thread sells. I use Maine thread a lot too, and have been procrastinating for several years on getting some thread from RoyalWood but never pulled the trigger. I did get some Tiger thread in on Thursday, but I haven't tried it. Just looking for a good thread that's easy to come by and won't break the bank.
