Members Big Posted October 6, 2015 Members Report Posted October 6, 2015 I am working a guitar strap lined with pigskin and I have 3 screw on conchs to add. Would you add them before the lining to cover up the screws or after. Also do you just condition the pigskin or is it best to add super sheen or Tan-Kote ? Quote
Members dragonhawke Posted October 7, 2015 Members Report Posted October 7, 2015 I would add the conch first, but then I like to hide any hardware attachments. Quote Dragonhawke (A.K.A: Colin Edmiston) Medicine Hat, Alberta Canada
Members DrmCa Posted October 18, 2015 Members Report Posted October 18, 2015 My sentiment is that it should depend on weight and hardness of leather. If you feel that yours is too light or soft, put the screw through 2 layers, otherwise hide it under the lining.
