The bag will be hand sewn with 632 Fil au chinois lin cable in black Black Horween Essex, 4oz Brass hardware Lined Just got started last night, but personally I like seeing the progression of people's projects, so here is mine. Members 25b Posted October 29, 2015 Members Report Posted October 29, 2015 How much of the strap did you fold over the d-ring and down behind the strap? How are you going to finish the top edge? Fold over or sew a binding over it? Quote
Members 9tpi Posted October 29, 2015 Author Members Report Posted October 29, 2015 I have about 1-1/4 folded over and skived down at the end to lay flat. yes i will be finishing the top edge but I still have to add a strip around the inside. Both exposed edges will be burnished and edge painted etc. Quote https://www.instagram.com/c_skelhorn

Members 9tpi Posted November 5, 2015 Author Members Report Posted November 5, 2015 Small update, Bottom is sewn on the bag with piping. Next will be lining the interior (with phone and zippered pockets) and installation of grommets for the "drawstring" Chris Cool, looks like it's going to be a nice bag. Thanks Monica! Fingers crossed lol Quote https://www.instagram.com/c_skelhorn
Members lilwaysleather Posted November 5, 2015 Members Report Posted November 5, 2015 Haven't done any piping yet. Did you put some type of wire or tube in between the leather for it or just folded the piece of leather on its own. Lookin good Quote
Members 9tpi Posted November 5, 2015 Author Members Report Posted November 5, 2015 lilways, this particular bag is just the leather folded over onto itself. How you place the piping on the bag and where you stitch in relation to it is what gives the illusion of it being cylindrical (as if tube or wire are inside). Personally I don't like anything synthetic (tube, wire, polyester etc) inside my work. I just feel synthetics won't age the way the natural materials do; My own preference.
