Hey friends,

I have read that petroleum based products are bad for leather....I noticed that Fiebings Snow Proof contains petrolatum (not sure if it's considered to be a petroleum distillate)....

any advice? Thank you!!

I've used it and never had a complaint. It's made by Fiebings and I doubt that they would make something to deliberately damage leather.

The can says it waterproofs, protects and conditions the leather.

I use Snow proof alot with No complications what so ever !

I cannot see on my plastic container where any ingredients are listed at all.

Can you relate this info please ? -------- Thanx; Wild Bill46

Wild Bill,

Look here for Snow Proof. Here for Mink Oil Liquid. Mink Oil Paste is a little more "natural".

hey WildBill, please see the image attached to this message. Clearly, Snow-Proof has petroleum distillates :)

Art, what do you recommend or use to weatherproof your leather items? I'm wanting to prep a halter for hard use and heavy weather for winter/rain/snow....thanks in advance for any advice you can share!!!
