Here's my latest project, a rifle sling. I designed the mule deer head (if anyone is interested, I can post the drawing) because I couldn't find a mule deer pattern that I liked. I also couldn't find a buck with big enough antlers that were also able to fit inside the sling's dimensions, who also had a handsome face. I wound up putting a young buck's face on an old buck's rack.

This is also my first time working with the big letters. It was scary, but I faked the confidence and stamped them in.

"Stuff is eaten by dogs, broken by family and friends, sanded down by the wind, frozen by the mountains, lost by the prairie, burnt off by the sun, washed away by the rain. So you are left with dogs, family, friends, sun, rain, wind, prairie and mountains. What more do you want?" Federico Calboli.

Looks good, I like the way you resisted the area around the name so it shows lighter then the rest of the sling

what sized letters did you use to stamp the name?

Every day you learn something is a good day. If you don't learn something every day, was it worth waking up for?

Gorgeous. If I had that and someone else had a feather in their ear we would both be tickled pink!

Great job!

Thanks! I am trying to share the sketch. I think I have to get to a computer (I'm on my phone right now.)

Looks great, I'd be happy to put that on my rifle. Pretty nerve wracking the first time you use those stamps isn't it? Always thinking "if I screw this up I have to start all over again". Good work

Thanks! Nerve wracking is the proper name, for sure.

Thanks. I haven't done any figure carving but this gives me something to try maybe a wallet is in the future.

Just be sure to carve the nose a smidge bigger than you think. At least, that's what I felt helped me.
