Members emablue Posted April 1, 2016 Members Report Posted April 1, 2016 Hi. I'm Star. Got into leather working recently. Mostly because I needed bracers for SCA Archery. These are my first attempt. Not too bad. Need to work on getting the background more even. I think that's just more practice. Looking to try my hand at a quiver next. Specifically a Hun- style side quiver. Quote
Members Youri Posted April 1, 2016 Members Report Posted April 1, 2016 Hey! I like the idea and the figure too! And i like that color! Do you mixed it? If you need some help at "hun" things just send me a PM. I dug myself deep into scythian, hun, hungarian ornamentation ect. Quote
Members TheCyberwolfe Posted April 2, 2016 Members Report Posted April 2, 2016 Ahh, another SCAdian that dove headfirst into Celtic knotwork on a first project. Why do we do that to ourselves? Quote
Members Grey Drakkon Posted April 2, 2016 Members Report Posted April 2, 2016 Because CELTIC KNOTS. Funny, looks like we have an East Coast, Central, and West Coast SCA member each posting here now. Quote
Members kiwican Posted April 2, 2016 Members Report Posted April 2, 2016 I would love to try one of those knots but my eye just cant seem to follow the pattern Quote
Members Halitech Posted April 2, 2016 Members Report Posted April 2, 2016 nice work kiwi, try doing it on a full 48" belt Quote
Members Grey Drakkon Posted April 3, 2016 Members Report Posted April 3, 2016 Kiwi, it's "simple", in that it's always an over/under pattern. Quote
Members emablue Posted April 3, 2016 Author Members Report Posted April 3, 2016 Celtic knots was an after thought. I wanted Ravens! Lol. I did mix the color myself. Learned right away to make more than I think is necessary. Youri, I love your work already and may ask some questions later. I'm actually descended from the Hun and speak Hungarian. So if you need translating, let me know. Quote
Members Peter Darby Posted April 4, 2016 Members Report Posted April 4, 2016 Lots of Scadians here Quote
