plinkercases Report post Posted May 1, 2016 I think I really like the idea of the purposeful (?) "keyhole" look in the belt slots on the1911 commander. I have always been challenged making the slots with either hole punched ands and cut or with bag/oblong punches... I guess I could always invest in a 1.75 inch bag punch. But that does look neat thanks.
chiefjason Report post Posted May 2, 2016 Plinker, can't recall the punch number offhand but I cut the slots out with a 1.5" French skiving knife if that helps. Works like a charm. I have a punch but it's way too thin for a gun belt.
Red Cent Report post Posted May 3, 2016 I have turned to the keyhole look. I put a bigger hole on the ends, then use the 20 ton press. This allows the holster to flex rather than have two 90 degree turns as the belt is going in and coming out. To me it makes a pancake a lot more comfortable to wear and uses less belt.
