Members entiendo Posted December 26, 2008 Members Report Posted December 26, 2008 Oh my goodness, that is beautiful...I'm making my first quirk/shoo fly combo and I'm feeling a little inadequate..... Quote
HorsehairBraider Posted December 26, 2008 Report Posted December 26, 2008 Hey that's some awesome work - really nice! I find it very inspiring. And coffee - it's not just to drink anymore... Quote
Members Pepelimoco Posted December 26, 2008 Members Report Posted December 26, 2008 Absolutely beautiful. I am in envy. I would love to be able to do this. I braid and tie knots using kangaroo but have not done anything in rawhide. Since I can't sit down beside someone who knows what they are doing and follow along I will have to pick out a very simple project and hack it out alone. Very impressive work. I would like to know how long you have been braiding rawhide. Quote
Members Wyvern Posted December 26, 2008 Members Report Posted December 26, 2008 HOLY SMOKE, that is amazing work! Quote

Members KAW Posted December 27, 2008 Author Members Report Posted December 27, 2008 Thanks for the comments all. Pepelimoco this year is 20 years, and you learn alot more by doing it yourself (at least I do). Quote
Members rgerbitz Posted December 27, 2008 Members Report Posted December 27, 2008 KAW, I was admiring your quirt again and was wondering what thickness are the strings that were used on the main body of the quirt, what angle are they beveled on and did you bevel all 4 corners? Thank you again for sharing. Rob Quote
Members KAW Posted December 28, 2008 Author Members Report Posted December 28, 2008 rgerbitz, Most of the time I cut the thickness 1/3 the width , my bevel is under 45 degrees and I bevel all 4 corners most of the time, I like heavier main braids so they stand up. Laters Willey Quote
Members Casey Jordan Posted December 28, 2008 Members Report Posted December 28, 2008 Very nice! I have never seen a popper put on like that, very neat. Could you post a picture of the popper ? I make a lot of poppers for one customer, but they all attach the same as the old way. Nice job! Casey Quote
