Members keplerts Posted August 15, 2016 Members Report Posted August 15, 2016 I'm about 35 miles from Altoona and 35 miles to State College. I will just have to make time and check W/C out in person. Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 15, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted August 15, 2016 I admit it --- when I saw PA in your profile thing there, I wondered why you "order' leather at all. I'd just earmark a few hours one saturday a month to go GET some. I order maybe a little larger amounts than some folks round here, but that's because I don't live an hour from the tannery! With that hour drive, I'd pick up a few at a time and have more room! Quote "Observation is 9/10 of the law." Members keplerts Posted August 15, 2016 Members Report Posted August 15, 2016 You are right Jeff, I should earmark some time. I would love to SEE what I'm getting before I actually get it! Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 15, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted August 15, 2016 I STILL haven't been in there. Make myself NOT go about once or twice a month. Matt 'n' friends say come on out.. you can pick the hides you want, get it holstered, split, and/or packaged and leave with it under yer arm. Scared to go. It's not the cost of the leather, or even the plane ticket (I am NOT driving that far),... it's the 3 young fellas I'd need to help me carry everything I liked! ChriJ Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 On the Wickett and Craig website the most expensive in in their tooling leather is what they classify as "Standard".. Is this the "A" or #1 grade or do they have a premium grade that you have to ask for? Thanks in advance, Chris Quote
Troy I Posted August 15, 2016 Report Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Chris J, Standard is their "grade A"....if you have any questions, give them a call or email them...they are good to work with. Contributing Member JLSleather Posted August 15, 2016 Contributing Member Report Posted August 15, 2016 (edited) Prolly is, if a guy was thinkin about something other than the topic. I guess other people just use girls to carry bulky items. 'Course, that makes good sense, actually. Put 'em ta work, that's what I say. Members Rcf1023 Posted February 10, 2017 Members Report Posted February 10, 2017 As an employee of Wickett&Craig in the finishing department. I can say that most small orders go through me and a lot of work goes into making these sides. Quote
