Members whimsicaldragon Posted September 15, 2016 Members Report Posted September 15, 2016 Greetings all, I am working on a leather coronet (crown) that I am putting gold leaf on. I need a way to finish the leather that is very resistant to scuffs and scratches so the gold leaf doesn't get scratched off. Almost like a lacquer or something like that. Floor polish? Wood polyurethane? I am not sure. Thin layers of some kind of glue maybe? I don't even know what to search for to try to find the answer on this forum so I apologize if this has been discussed before. Any experience or ideas are welcome. Thanks! Quote
Members Dwight Posted September 16, 2016 Members Report Posted September 16, 2016 I would make sure first by doing a test area on another piece of leather. But my first attempt would be a sprayed on 50/50 solution of Resolene and water. Second thought would be 50/50 Mop and Glo and water, . . . but you dip this one. Members bking54 Posted October 19, 2016 Members Report Posted October 19, 2016 I use an airbrush gun to airbrush on acryllic resolene. It always turns out nice and even finiah, no streak's or smears from a cloth. Quote
