Another Templar in progress

Recommended Posts

Wanted to share this before it gets darker. I never thought I would be asked to do a second one but this guy is for a 3.5" 1911. I dyed it so that the Cross looks like it always has a light shinning on it and the cross is supposed to look as if it were moving forward on a battle standard. It will get an all over antique next which should tye it all together. Right now its Cherry, Oxblood, Red and Mahogany with black edges. The frog is red but keeps coming out orange in photos

Being leatherworkers  maybe some process shoots might be interesting. There are more pix here

This is excellent work.

your inlay is excellent , and your coloring is superb.

but what caught my eyes is the stitching.

I would like to compliment your stitching.

Not only is it good, but you took the time to match the thread holes so that the stitches lie side by side.

This raises the whole project above the bar by doing so to beyond professional work,,,, to art.

Thank you so much for your kind comments Joel!!! and very sharp eyes. I actually had to fudge the stitch lengths just a touch especially on the curved side to make them line up. I never tried it before. I really did sweat that piece. I work hard on all of them but this was a point of pride.
