BMW Report post Posted October 13, 2016 Does anyone know if a Juki 2516N overlock machine will cover stitch upholstery leather? About 2 to 3 oz. If not leather what about patch type material. Looking to do some patches for vest and jackets
Uwe Report post Posted October 16, 2016 (edited) Best way to find out is to just try it. The problem with putting a patch-like edge cover stitch on a piece of leather is that the stitches are super close together. You'll likely just perforate the leather and it will tear very easily. For putting a border stitch on fabric patches, a merrow machine appears to be the right tool: Edited October 16, 2016 by Uwe
CowboyBob Report post Posted October 20, 2016 You need a 2-spool serged edge for patches,so take out the left needle & use the right one only, you'll also a need to change the overcast looper to an open one(converts to 2-spool) so you can sew the edge w/2 spools.
