Members m9andg27 Posted October 14, 2016 Members Report Posted October 14, 2016 I bought a little Eastpak that was great for a while but it started to fall apart so i decided to redo it in leather with a few personal tweaks. I made a canvas bag first to test my skills that came out great. The leather one was a lot harder since i'm just using a cheap home sewing machine. But overall I'm still fairly happy with it. Quote
bikermutt07 Posted October 15, 2016 Report Posted October 15, 2016 Good job. I'm assuming you already knew how to sew? Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.

I have made several cotton quilts but this is my first time making a bag and working with leather. It was very helpful to make a canvas bag first for practice. Quote
Members Tugadude Posted October 17, 2016 Members Report Posted October 17, 2016 Very nice! Did you line it? Quote

No. I thought i would prefer it unlined but now that it's all together I think it would be a nice addition. The raw inside feels a bit too unfinished. Quote

Members HobbledCobbler Posted October 28, 2016 Members Report Posted October 28, 2016 That's great! What weight leather and needle/thread size did you use? Did you have any trouble with your machine bogging down at the seams? Quote
