Hammer - leather handle repair

I'm trying to locate someone with the knowledge to repair my father's hammer handle for Christmas. He found it when I was a kid and it's his favorite one to work with. I'm willing to mail it out.

Some description of the type of hammer you are looking to repair would be helpful too.  Is it a claw hammer with stacked leather rings in the handle, or a rawhide mallet, or ... ?

I am located in Texas and willing to mail the hammer anywhere in the continental US. I understand I could either buy a new one or an old one for less than repair, but it has some good stories associated with it and the newer ones have less of a "hook" to the claw side.  Adding links since I can't get the pictures to load.  The hammer to be repaired is an older Estwing hammer with leather rings (FYI - I did not tape the handle). The second picture is of what a new one looks like but I believe the design is the same.
