While I was finishing up the last order of 5 I had another person contact me and wants an El Dorado for a Ruger Black Hawk with a 4 inch barrel, he was specific in pointing out he wants a forward cant and a 1.5 inch belt.  The reason for the specifics is that the customer is wheel chair bound and wants to be able to wear the rig while in the wheel chair.  I found out that Tandy carries the pattern, and want to note that I have not made one of these to this point and looking forward to the challenge, however are there any pointers you can lend to the project that I need to look for in order to meet the requirements and the challenges of making this for someone that is in a wheel chair.

Thanks in Advance.

I actually had to look up what an "el dorado" is ;)

Red likely got some input here, or I think Jim Simmons holster instructions are pretty clear.

I have a mold for the super black hawk, but not the .357

There will be some "fussing" you will have to do to get the cant to turn out right, . . . and if you have never done it, . . . it can be a bit tricky.

But then again, . . . if you really eyeball the El Dorado movie, . . . you will see there is a slight forward cant to the holster.  I've made several of them.

But other than that, . . . it should be a piece of cake, . . . on a scale of difficulty 1 to 10, 10 being the most difficult, . . . I'd rate an El Dorado at about a 3 at the worst.

Make your pattern from manila file folders, . . . and you can cut and tape to your heart's content, . . . getting the piece over the belt in the right attitude so the cant works out.

PM me with a email address, . . . I'll help you with the pattern if you need it.

May God bless,

OOOPS>.. I got that backwards.  Some of these patterns should maybe get pulled out a bit more often

Turns out, I did have the blackhawk.. got it from Ray 'n' friends at bunkhouse tools, -- pattern came with the dummy gun (so not mine to sell/trade/give). Fit like a glove ...

And maybe I kept the ammo carrier that girl wanted to go with it?  I'll look around, but not guarantee ...
