Dyeing Sharkskin

Anyone have any experience dyeing sharkskin? If so what did you use

I haven't tried dyeing sharkskin, but had good sucess dyeing Crocodile with Fiebing's Pro Oil Dye.Dave

The shark I have been getting in black seems to be a crome tan type leather. I have not bought any lighter colors and have not tried to dye it but I would think that oil dye would work well. I would try it on a small scrap. As expensive as it is I would not want to ruin it.

I have some vegetable tanned shark that dyes very well with spirit dyes in the darker colors. Probably the eco flos would work also, but would need to be sealed against moisture that might cause it to run.

I have been buying shark that comes in a reddish-brown color. I have had great success dying it black with vinegaroon. :yes: It smells like pickled fish for a little while but it goeas away as it dries. :cowboy:
