HavenHillJay Report post Posted December 15, 2016 (edited) I just got done with the tooling on one of the gifts I am making this year. Thought I'd share. Had to make due with the pear shader I have, which was a bit big for the petals on the bloom. It's my best tooling job so far... TonyRV2 Report post Posted December 15, 2016 I like it! Nice job. I have just one suggestion and that would be to pick up a modeling too...spoon shaped, to smooth out the tooling marks around the carvings' perimeter. Heck, some folks just use a small spoon, but there a little too big I think for any real detail work. ymmv Keep up the good work!

alpha2 Report post Posted January 7, 2017 Looks like you might have the beveling tool angled a bit, causing the edge to bite a little. You can also tap the beveler lightly and close together over your orignal bevel to smooth out those marks. Nice job, though!
HavenHillJay Report post Posted January 10, 2017 Chief and bdpeters, thanks you for the kind words. Alpha2 thanks for the tip and the kind words. Each time I do a project I learn something, get a little better at something, and thoroughly enjoy myself. If you are at all curious, the finished product in shown in a thread I made called Finished Christmas Presents 2016. Again, thanks everybody.
