NVLeatherWorx Posted January 26, 2017 Report Posted January 26, 2017 I learned how to make belts from the teachings of Al Stohlman and have followed that my entire life with no issues yet. I figure that after 40 plus years of doing it that way and there having been no problems with this method couldn't see any reason to try and do anything different. Guess that is what they mean by, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" and I don't see any fixin' needed. I also go with his instruction on the spacing of holes: 7/8" apart and not 1"; we don't grow or shrink in full inch increments. Quote Richard Hardie R. P. Hardie Leather Co. R. P. Members Dwight Posted January 26, 2017 Members Report Posted January 26, 2017 To each his own, . . . but then again, . . . I've never heard of anyone who grew or shrunk in 7/8 of an inch increments. Just a different way of skinning the same cat. One gives the customer a closer range of choices, . . . the other allows the belt to be more versatile. I like mine better, . . . and it ain't broke. May God bless, Dwight Quote If you can breathe, . . . thank God. If you can read, . . . thank a teacher. If you are reading this in English, . . . thank a veteran. www.dwightsgunleather.com
