Wedgetail Report post Posted February 5, 2017 G'day all, Personal project over the weekend. I got sick of my mouse going crazy while playing battlefield on my glossy coffee table, so i made myself a mouse pad. This was my second time using a sewing machine, so a couple of things I know I did wrong... but I am getting there It is veg tan belt leather from a double shoulder. It has an acrylic coating which I actually hate for belts, because it can peel and crumples really easily... so I haven't been using it to make many belts! For this project though, I figured the coating would make it easier to clean, and i used the bottom of the shoulder where the hide splits for this experiment, so this would have been waste material anyway. Edges are dyed black, and burnished with beeswax. The back is lined with veg tan pigskin in maple colour, held on with contact cement and red coloured upholstery thread. I hope you like it! I tested it out last night, and it worked perfectly
Crashresq Report post Posted February 5, 2017 I like it. Which "Battlefield" are you playing? Lost way to many hours of my life playing BFBC2 and Battlefield 3... didn't continue on to 4 though... Currently addicted to Overwatch
kiwican Report post Posted February 5, 2017 hmmm I play on ps3, any players out there? also great looking pad. I sit in chair and use the mouse on my leg. Some days it works better than others, so I was thinking of making a leather mouse pad that fit over my thigh. Similar to a tattoo artist thigh pad I guess only smaller
Wedgetail Report post Posted February 6, 2017 Thanks guys, Battlefield 3 on the PC normally, 3 or 4 on the xbox when the wife isn't watching the TV I prefer the xbox when I have the choice, because my laptop is slooooooooow. I used to use my leg too! Lol it works pretty well for most things but FPS games are not one of them... haha
