Members cradom Posted March 5, 2017 Members Report Posted March 5, 2017 (edited) This is a copy of my dads left handed Bianchi flipped to right hand. The original is plain. 8-9oz leather with pig skin lining. For a Ruger Blackhawk .45. Also found out this leather is too thick for the Pull-the-Dots I got for it. (I have since discovered you can use the backs from line 24 with Pull-the-dots...too late) Probably should have used the larger basket weave stamp but I'm happy with it. Yes that wall is pink When we bought the house it was a nursery. Too lazy to paint so far. Edited March 5, 2017 by cradom Quote
bikermutt07 Posted March 5, 2017 Report Posted March 5, 2017 That is one nice slick edge. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
Members plinkercases Posted March 6, 2017 Members Report Posted March 6, 2017 Good bush holster for sure and I think the weave looks ok. A bigger weave would have made the Ruger look even smaller in scale. Nice job. Members Mattsbagger Posted March 6, 2017 Members Report Posted March 6, 2017 Yep looks good. Weave is right size. To scale by my eye. Quote
Members cradom Posted March 6, 2017 Author Members Report Posted March 6, 2017 Thank you thank you! The other weave isn't much bigger, maybe 1/8 in. I just liked the diamond in the center. Surprised I got the direction to match on the flap Quote
Members BlakeSmith Posted March 6, 2017 Members Report Posted March 6, 2017 Wow, very pretty gun koozie. Also, I love .45's and that one now has a nice home Quote
Members cradom Posted March 7, 2017 Author Members Report Posted March 7, 2017 Thanks everyone! Quote
Members cradom Posted March 11, 2017 Author Members Report Posted March 11, 2017 Quick (dumb) question: making the belt to match this. I stamp the weave before I glue it together right? Also, this belt is not for pants belt loops. Should I use some kind of stiffener between the layers (8-9oz each)? Some kind of strapping? Or is this enough? Quote
