Columbiar Report post Posted March 22, 2017 Tks. What weight?
Bolt Vanderhuge Report post Posted March 22, 2017 (edited) What ever weight is needed to get you to your desired thickness. For example if you use 8oz then two 4oz pieces glued flesh to flesh will give you 8oz of smooth on both side leather. It could also be a 6oz + a 2oz or a 3oz + a 5oz etc etc. Edited March 22, 2017 by Bolt Vanderhuge
ProCreationz Report post Posted March 22, 2017 I use non-chrome pigskin for holster lining. Avoid any chrome tanned leather.
johnv474 Report post Posted March 23, 2017 It depends on the effect that's desired. For slick, use leather with the grain out. For soft, use suede side out. I often line with pig suede or other veg tan. If the gun is not stored in the holster you could use chrome tan but it's generally discouraged for long-term contact with the metal. Columbiar Report post Posted March 24, 2017 Would veg tan in 3/4 be about right for a fold over western holster in 8/9 veg tan?
