Earlier today i was thinking about making a black bridle with the noseband brow band and headpiece padded

with white patent leather i new i had a bit lying around somewhere so found it had a lot more than i thought, it

had be stored away for years it was was stuck together so bit the bullet just pulled it apart can't see any real

damage, looks like i can use it. Not saying this will work for you but maybe worth a try.

hope this helps JCUK

What about trying a soaking? not just a wetting but a real immersion in water for a period?

Better apart and dull then still stuck together and unuseable.

A good coating of a beeswax polish will bring the shine back up

Have you tried a hot water and detergent soak? If you can get a good start at an edge try brushing along in between while gently pulling apart. If no go try methylated spirits and same process. Cut out small sections for trials first I think.

This is when I soak it with warm soapy water and really carfully peel
