andrewsejlv Report post Posted April 4, 2017 Hello! My name is Jon, and I am a mechanical engineer from Pittsburgh. My hobbies include classic car restoration, target shooting/reloading, rc aircraft, woodworking, sewing, and most recently leatherworking. Below are some pictures of my first leather creations. All parts are laser cut and hand stitched. Until now this has just been a hobby, but I hope to turn leatherwork and some of my other hobbies into a small business, which I recently made a page for. Let me know what you think. I look forward to learning from everyone here! Knife Belt Pouch Folding Card Wallet Flat Card Wallet Field Notes Cover The field notes cover has my logo on one side, and an engraving of the streets of downtown Pittsburgh on the other. I'm using the following pages to post my work, and these will be my perspective business pages (here's to hoping it can actually become a business...) bikermutt07 Report post Posted April 4, 2017 Really like your logo. While laser engravers are pretty cool, they are no substitute for that nice stitching you did. Great job. Welcome to the forum.

electrathon Report post Posted April 4, 2017 Your work looks great. How do you know already how to hand sew? Your stitches are superb.

Great job. Welcome to the forum. Thanks! I wanted something that would look good for a number of different products/uses, so that I could use it across all my work (sewn goods, woodworking, leatherwork, design). After a few iterations, I came up with this one, and I think it will work for all my different disciplines. 38 minutes ago, Sceaden said: Beautiful work! It took some work to convert the data into the right format, and crop it to just what I needed, but I think the result came out well. 7 minutes ago, electrathon said: Your work looks great. I started with machine stitching (car interiors and tactical gear mostly) and then moved to hand stitching for leather, since my two industrial machines weren't set up for leather and were trashing the surface. But now I'm kinda hooked on hand stitching for leather, as the results are unbeatable!
