Members RonSwanson Posted May 8, 2017 Members Report Posted May 8, 2017 Just started working with leather. Started with a few easy kits, a journal and wallet, but have since started making some stuff from scratch. I have made a pipe bag and some book marks. I am in the middle of wet molding a shotgun shell pouch and some game straps. Quote
Members Mattsbagger Posted May 8, 2017 Members Report Posted May 8, 2017 Looks like a good start. It's hard to get a good stitch when soft leather isn't glued. What are you using to make your stitching holes and lines? Better than my first few projects. Quote

I was using a 2 prong chisle and eyeballed the lines on these projects. I now have a groover, spacer, and an awl. Quote
bikermutt07 Posted May 8, 2017 Report Posted May 8, 2017 Ron would never be caught dead on the internet. Haha. Great first attempts. I like the book mark idea. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
