Thread size used here?

Hello,

Planning on making myself a motorcycle vest. I like the stand out thread design in the attached pics. Any ideas on the thread size used to get that bold stand out look of the thread?  The one guy I asked said 277 thread.

Actually I would think 207 would be sufficient to get that look.  It is apparently mostly denim with leather overlays, . . .

Do you have a machine?

Do you have access to thread pieces to try, . . . so you can see what you like?

That's a great idea! I've been wondering about threads sizes too.

any chance you could take the same picture with a ruler beside the leather so as I have a guide of how many stitches per inch?

Dwight - I have a 31-15 I'm aware its maxed out at 138 thread. Unless there is a mod I don't know about to let it topstitch with thicker thread.
