Wonder if a side release buckle would be the way to go on the straps? It's too tight, tho - it's cutting off circulation to your fingers and turning them blue. Bill Heh, yeah black and blue! But seriously, nice design work. I had a random thought on straps: how about a D ring coupled with a Sam Brown stud? Or velcro...And form a permanant loop for the thumb to fit into that comfortably positions the mitt on the hand prior to adjusting the wrist straps...kinda like in your first example photo.. I would think it might be more comfortable than a rigid strap across the thumb for long term use. I really like the idea of the neoprene palm - good grip, water resistant, won't hold grit... Look forward to seeing your next iteration! YinTx Quote YinTx https://www.instagram.com/lanasia_2017/ https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLK6HvLWuZTzjt3MbR0Yhcj_WIQIvchezo
Members JD62 Posted September 13, 2017 Members Report Posted September 13, 2017 I like what you've done here. It looks very useable, if a bit tough to buckle. The support for the wrist seems to be just where it needs to be ! Quote One day at a time my friends John
Members k10 Posted September 14, 2017 Members Report Posted September 14, 2017 Cool good to hear he loves it. On the velcro note as suggested above I've had a few gloves with single D loop and hook n loop straps that work great one handed, to the point I've tightened or removed one with my teeth easy enough when holding something I couldn't let go of with other hand. Some brands (eg. velcro) can be harder to release than other brands so it is good if can see it in person or get accurate review first (although strong hold may be preferable of course). Quote

Bill I am going to use a single rectangular D-ring and use press snaps for the next one. I have modified my design and about to make the changes to his one, but keep the same buckles though for the first one. Yeah black dye is a nightmare with me. I end up with it everywhere. (I dont like wearing gloves). On 9/13/2017 at 4:02 AM, YinTx said: Heh, yeah black and blue! But seriously, nice design work. Changing to single rectangular d-ring and press studs on the next ones for him. The support was perfect. He was thinking of taking it shorter by about 10mm but it would have lost the support he needed. Quote
Members AussieMade Posted November 1, 2019 Author Members Report Posted November 1, 2019 An update on the Mitt for this customer. It is still in use and has been around the world, and with him living in the Philippines for a while, has lasted during severe storms they have endured while living there. Still looks brand new, and gets used every day. Quote
