swivel knife, a ruler and a beveler

if you look closely, you can see the knife marks on some of the ends where it meets the cross piece

Really, that looks like a lot of places to make a mistake!! Wow I will have to give that a try but it looks pretty difficult!

That looks like a mini5 basket stamp tool.

look at the areas I've circled, to me those look like knife marks

Could be.  But if you look very close he would have had to turn his knife exactly the same and made intentional overcuts at a completely different angle than he was cutting at.  Almost impossible to do, on purpose or accident.

The imperfections are all in a straight line, as are the other imperfections.  It looks to me like he was not that used to using the mini5 tool and got a little off on the alignment as he moves across the leather.

you could be right, I know I have seen someone do this pattern without any other tools and I haven't seen the mini5 you are talking about so not sure how it would look if he got off alignment.

Electrathon, never heard of a mini 5 tool before where do you get such a stamp? I did a google search and came up blank, and we all know google knows everything? Lol.

The guy is on facebook, the Pinterest image is of the tool.  He makes a few different angles of the tool.  I bought mine a couple years back and have not done any more than play a little with it.

I just looked at the above link, that is the guy.

Hi,
Maybe i can reply to the first post.

I looking for the beveler he use. I think less expensive than the Mini5.
