Members Parfektionisto Posted October 7, 2017 Members Report Posted October 7, 2017 I found a singer 45k25 locally and I'm wondering if this machine can do binding work? Quote
Members Constabulary Posted October 7, 2017 Members Report Posted October 7, 2017 (edited) I have not tried it but there is some sort of special binding attachment for these machines. This is an extract from an Adler 5 manual which is pretty much the same machine as the 45K. It shows the attachment in use. So if the 45K25 comes with he attachment plate right of the needle plate you could use this attachment. Singer shows a similar attachment in their 45K25 parts list Edited October 7, 2017 by Constabulary Quote ~ Keep "OLD CAST IRON" alive - it´s worth it ~ Machines in use: - Singer 111G156 - Singer 307G2 - Singer 29K71 - Singer 212G141 - Singer 45D91 - Singer 132K6 - Singer 108W20 - Singer 51WSV2 - Singer 143W2

Members Parfektionisto Posted October 8, 2017 Author Members Report Posted October 8, 2017 Thanks Jimi & Constabulary, seems like the binding attachment is not easy to find and not easy to use. Jimi, did you use your k21 with treadle or servo? Do you think slower speed will help with binding? Tony Quote
Members jimi Posted October 8, 2017 Members Report Posted October 8, 2017 Treadle power tony, and the slower the better (at least for me). Quote

I thought so too, that's why I'm trying to find a treadle base. Even with the modern binder I also have to slow down when sewing corners. Tony Quote
