sheathmaker Report post Posted October 14, 2017 Hey Trav, The 20 is so new to me that I don't know anything about it, however the 18 will do what you have described just fine and will also handle inlay work nicely. There is virtually no information published on either of theses machines, no specs, no manuals, only one postage stamp size picture on their website and a price. They say they do this on purpose so that you call them. That approach must appeal to some subset of the market - it certainly doesn't work for me. Yeah, I also really hate it when there isn't enough information out there to do any research before I contact people. How can I ask the right questions if there isn't even enough information for me to figure out what the right questions *are*? That said, this forum is pretty good at giving me all the info on pretty much any machine I might consider using (and, more importantly, what machines are clones of other machines with known specs). This "give me a call thing" is outdated. Sure some do like the old school business but times have changed. Nowadays customers have many options and they often choose the service where they get the most information just the moment they need them - especially when prices are quite comparable. If we “look around” not any that i see are listing specs on flatbed clones “except artisian” fwiw. And running with that as it obviously will get heated. It looks as though all are listing a 1508nh clone, so why even bother with another choice model. I would get that with a new box style reducer pulley and a good servo. I have seen the same clone with the top knob for step adjustment. In my mind a cloned machine will have its tuning needs as all do. Obviously these regularities may will be accustomed by dealers that sell and service them. I guess many and as I did and still do stop in at the forum here to get the top drawer information in all their respects. In that thank you So to get movin here I would choose a top load bobbin, because in my opinion it has a more robust hook to needle arrangement. This is only my opinion.
