It depends on the bike. They are fine on the models that I've made them for which include Triumph Bonnevilles and Honda CB's. Also good for cafe'd bikes where the battery and side covers are removed/relocated. Quote

Understandable, I’m going to eventually attempt a similar style on my Bonneville Speedmaster. just need a template. Quote

It's easy to make your own templates. Some paper, a pencil and a tape measure are all that's needed. I usually do a tracing on the bike, take measurements and then clean up the lines. Once you have the main shape you are free to design the rest. Quote
