Members Sledzep01 Posted December 16, 2017 Members Report Posted December 16, 2017 I am brand new to leather. I have created a drawstring bag and a key holder bowl?? and hammered 3, yes a Full 3! copper rivets!!! Yeah I am that new. I have read a whole bunch on here already and watched just about ALL of Youtube so you know I am dangerous! It is late and i am attempting to make like a haversack from leftover couch leather (all I have so far) and figured I better say hello before I started asking questions. bikermutt07 Posted December 29, 2017 Report Posted December 29, 2017 Welcome aboard. Here is something I like to share with newer folk.... Start in small batches of the same small item. This will give you great yield from your leather while you develop all the techniques. It will give you more time to practice each step. Plus if you botch a few you can keep progressing without starting over. Quote I'm not paying 80 bucks for a belt!!! It's a strip of leather. How hard could it be? 4 years and 3 grand later.... I have a belt I can finally live with. Stitching is like gravy, it's only great if you make it every day. From Texas but in Bossier City, Louisiana.
