Small braided gift

Recommended Posts

Small Christmas gift; braided headphones holder. Starts with a simple three plait, then folded in half, using two strands as a core for the round four-braid, finished with a gaucho knot button.  Will post a more detailed process overview of the knot in the ‘how to’ section. I forgot how fiddly braiding and knot tying is lol

Nice job. I enjoy learning about braiding leather.

The Bruce Grant & Robert Woolery books have been very helpful. ;-)

Thank you! I’ll have to take a look at Robert Woolery’s books, too

That is really cool!  Everything laying so perfectly straight and flat!  I think my hands might be too big and bumbling to pull that one off.

The Robert Woolery book I have, is titled Braiding Rawhide Horse Tack.

It's another one of those books that sheds light on an interesting topic.

There must be others, but these are the ones I read.

Thanks! It was definitely a change in speed after all the stitching I’ve been doing lol. Knots are good at teaching.....patience.....and a colorful vocabulary

Thanks for the detail, will take a look. I have immense respect for the work these authors put into writing those books.

It's been so long, I think it was purchased through the local Tandy Leather store. But it could have been Barnes & Noble.. ;-)

If you like braiding, you will also likely enjoy reading his book.
