Members Yeslek Posted February 13, 2018 Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Does anyone know who made or makes these leather stamps? They seem to be well made. Somebody emailed the picture to me and I would like to know if they are still available. Quote
bermudahwin Posted February 13, 2018 Report Posted February 13, 2018 I cannot say specifically, but way back in the 1980s (I think it was), the Tandy catalog used to include pages like this for their tools, which in my opinion were well made then. I do not remember the outlined hex , but they certainly did a Greek T shape. Harry Quote
Members DV8DUG Posted February 13, 2018 Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Yeah. Looks like a Tandy page alright. Quote
Members buzzardbait Posted February 13, 2018 Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 (edited) Those are Barry King tools. He still makes most if not all of them. I recently bought the shell border and the box burst w/dot. Edited February 13, 2018 by buzzardbait Quote
Members Bodean Posted February 13, 2018 Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Yeah those prices on that page are not Tandy prices. Quote
bermudahwin Posted February 13, 2018 Report Posted February 13, 2018 That makes sense of the prices, thanks Buzzardbait. I just remembered the imprint pictures in the old Tandy Catalogs, and may even have some in a box. Harry Quote
Members Yeslek Posted February 13, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Thanks Buzzardbait and everyone. Does anyone have contact information for Barry King Tools? I have a McMillen catalog coming. Trying to put a "compendium" of leather tools together as reference for some leather classes I'm working on. Any tool impression charts with manufacturer and tool numbers would be welcome. After 53 years of enjoying leather work, I'm making an attempt to give back some of my experience. Quote

Members billybopp Posted February 13, 2018 Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Barry King is a sponsor here on LWN. Look for his banner ads at the top of the page and use that to get to his website. Give LWN a little love that way! - Bill Quote
Members Yeslek Posted February 13, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 13, 2018 Thanks billybopp. Fabulous tools. I will acknowledge Barry King Tools. Here's my summer office with a 4 corner view. Saddleback Mountain Fire Lookout, Tahoe National Forest, northwest of Downieville, CA. After watching for fires, I get to tool leather in the evenings. Members Yeslek Posted February 14, 2018 Author Members Report Posted February 14, 2018 Thanks JD62. We even have a local wolverine wandering about the area of Saddleback Lookout. His name is Buddy and if you google Buddy the Wolverine, he has his own website with some game camera footage of him. I've been lucky enough to see him twice. Tony Quote
