Members Kenl Posted February 27, 2018 Members Report Posted February 27, 2018 (edited) I know I am probably asking beginners questions but if you don't know you have to ask. Can you glue veg tan leather and chrome tan leather together and expect good results? I feel the answer is yes just want to confirm before running a project. Edited February 27, 2018 by Kenl Quote
bikermutt07 Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 If you are planning to see it afterwards, sure. Most of us here use contact cement. I like the 4oz version of weldwood. I get it at Lowe's or Home Depot. Lots of people here like Barge's cement. When I glue something that I can allow to wait for the night I use the fiebings leather glue. It's kind of like Elmer's. But, I don't know if that would work for the chrome tanned, never tried that. There is no dumb question here, only costly mistakes. Also, get in the mindset of trying everything on scraps first. It will save you lots of grief in the long run. Have fun. Quote

alpha2 Posted February 27, 2018 Report Posted February 27, 2018 Just remember that if you're gluing to a smooth side, sand it rough first. Quote
