HELLO -AFTER SEARCHING FOR A WHILE WE HAVE FINALLY PURCHASED A SINGER 29K171 PROFESSIONAL SEWING MACHINE. WE OWN A MOTORCYCLE SHOP AND I DO ALOT OF PATCH SEWING AND THIS MACHINE WAS A MUST HAVE FROM DOING SOME RESEARCH. THE PROBLEM I AM HAVING, I CAN NOT SEEM TO FIND INFORMATION FOR THIS PARTICULAR MACHINE. I AM IN NEED OF PURCHASING BOBBINS, SMALLER NEEDLE, THREAD, ETC. CURIOUS IF ANYONE HAS A PARTS MANUAL/ SERVICE MANUAL FOR THIS PARTICULAR MACHINE. EVERYTHING I SEE ONLINE IS CONTRADICTING FOR SIZE AND WHAT I NEED. ANY AND ALL INFORMATION WOULD BE APPRECIATED TO GET ME UP AND GOING HERE. I AM WANTING TO PUT THE SMALLEST NEEDLE I CAN IN IT TO DO MY PATCHES, (MOST HARLEY GUYS DON'T WANT ME PUTTING HUGE HOLES IN THEIR LEATHERS) AND I DO NEED TO GET SOME BOBBINS FOR THIS MACHINE. LOOKS TO ME LIKE A SMALL BOBBIN BUT THEN OTHER THINGS I READ SAY ITS A LARGE? I JUST WOULD LOVE A BOOK THAT SAYS EXACTLY WHAT I NEED WEATHER I CAN DOWNLOAD IT OR BUY IT I DONT REALLY MIND. SEEMS ALOT OF YOU GUYS ON HERE KNOW ALOT ABOUT THESE MACHINES AND I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW MORE!! THANKS FOR YOUR TIME!!

Since Bob hooked you up and the manual and supplies I'll just add that you will love the machine for doing patches. I have two hand crank patchers that I take on the road with me to several rally's a year. Usually have a line in front of both machines dawn to dusk with people waiting to get patches sewn on. Paid for both a gazillion times over at $10 a patch.

here is another one with nice exploded diagrams of the parts - helpful if you want to disassemble it for service.
