Members DoubleD Posted May 4, 2018 Members Report Posted May 4, 2018 (edited) Hi all from NC. What started as an innocent trip last year to check out the local Tandy shop with my daughter and the purchase of a simple purse project has turned into...well...an addiction! I've been on here for a bit and realized there is SOOOO much to learn, but am grateful there are so many people out there willing to share their knowledge. Maybe sometime soon I'll remember to take pictures to post in the other forums. Until then, thanks to all the contributors that take the time to "teach" the new guys. garypl Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 Welcome! I agree with you, seems like every week I am buying a new tool, more leather or other leather-related items! Gary Quote
bikermutt07 Posted May 4, 2018 Report Posted May 4, 2018 It's more frustrating than golf. It takes up more space than grandma's Nick-Nack collection. It's more expensive than motorcycles. It smells better than the forest. And is more fun than fishing. Quote
Members JD62 Posted May 4, 2018 Members Report Posted May 4, 2018 Ha ha Mutt you've got em all but the "smells better than the forest", I dont think anything smells better than the woods first thing on a spring morning! Quote

Members Handstitched Posted May 4, 2018 Members Report Posted May 4, 2018 G'Day DoubleD, Welcome to the 'sometimes frustrating but mostly enjoyable and very addictive , sometimes costly , and very satisfying' world of working with leather . When I was just starting with leather many moons ago, I took bits of skin off the tips of my fingers with a stanley knife because my fingers were over the edge of the ruler and left my fingers with straight tips....I thought I'd stick with it We're all here to help, and theres no such thing as a silly question on here. The answer may very well save you a lot of money and frustration. HS Quote
