I need help with my machine. after about 5 stiches the thread breaks . I know what is happening but don't know how to stop it.

Pictures of what is happening (video) could be useful so we can see what is happening.  Please describe what you know what is happening.  Not enough info here to allow us to help you.

Also needle & thread size, what thickness & type of material?Old or new leather?

I bought the machine not knowing anything. after seeing a picture on this site I realize there are no tension wheels and I found a broken

screw where it should be. I will work on getting pics soon. I know it's probably the wrong machine but I was going to make the upholstery

for my car. thankyou for responding.
