Members Chaka Zulu Posted June 26, 2018 Members Report Posted June 26, 2018 I'm making a document folder for a friend, with her initials (GW) carved in. I've found the script and can cut out fairly nicely with the swivel knife. Question is, how to bevel? The lettering is a single cut (ie not a raised letter), essentially using the swivel knife as a pen. So do I double bevel or just pick a side and bevel that? Quote
Members Sheilajeanne Posted June 26, 2018 Members Report Posted June 26, 2018 Can you show us a picture? I'm not really understanding what you're saying. Generally, when i do letters, they are beveled all the way around. Quote
Members DJole Posted June 26, 2018 Members Report Posted June 26, 2018 If it's not a raised letter, perhaps using the inverted carving technique would work? The line would still need to be wide enough to do this, though, and that doesn't seem to be your case here. Quote
Members BDAZ Posted June 26, 2018 Members Report Posted June 26, 2018 Just finished an order for a name in Hebrew.. I cut the letters, bevel all cut edges and then use a backgrounder to "lower the background and add texture. In this case the textured background is painted black with USMC Blach, and the letters are painted metallic gold. Bob Quote
