HamiltonLeather Report post Posted July 9, 2018 I recently bought a blue gun so I could practice some designs for holsters. Everybody has a 1911 right? I used Ritza nylon thread and hand saddle stitched it.

immiketoo Report post Posted July 9, 2018 You'll have trouble with the draw of the pistol from that due to it sitting too deeply in the holster. You should be able to get your whole hand on the weapon in a combat grip, meaning no adjustment to grip from draw to presentation.

I was in a hurry when I previously looked at the holster, and didn't notice this. You want your fingers to get a good grip without the holster being in the way. HamiltonLeather Report post Posted July 9, 2018 Yeah you're right I did go a bit too deep with this design. That's why I said practicing haha. Thanks for the feedback guys.
plinkercases Report post Posted July 9, 2018 (edited) Hard to tell but you may want to test it to see if that much leather so far up isn't also in danger of moving the safety or depressing the mag release.... learned both hose the hard way once or twice.. mostly with the mag release.... Draw - thud - crap..... Full combat grip while holstered was my other comment as well..... When patterning I always mark where the controls are and draw the space for the fingers (fat ones) on the grip. And every should have a 1911! or two or three.... RegisD Report post Posted July 10, 2018 The good news is the holster is beautifully done. Yes, the grip is a little covered-up.

Cane toads are not in the west of Australia yet, @##$%@% toads cause so much damage due to native species eating them and dying. I HATE feral animals in Australia. All toads, cats and foxes should be made into leather products instantly

Worst thing about using politicians for leather ... how do you manage to clean 'em?

All toads, cats and foxes should be made into leather products instantly I understand they were a "good idea" gone wrong like introducing a new species of Asian lady bug here that was to eat aphides but are now a massive problem and they bite rather than fly away home... I think it is best when Man lets nature sort itself out.
