Telling us what YOU found out about that machine in terms of pictures, documentation, specs, is a great way to get the ball rolling. Specific questions help, too. We occasionally suffer from let-me-google-that-for-you fatigue.

Basically that's all i know at present apart from it being needle feed and on sale a few hundred miles away, flat bed but great maker and lots of similar models of what looks like the same basic machine like models 141,145,195,335,345,545,595 as the instruction manual classes them all in the same book

Only going to be used for normally 2-2.5 mm veg tan and flat bed will suite my needs

So little info on the web about old products, no dates service manuals or history of any sort, but lots of virus sites selling manuals

It easily sews 2-2.5mm veg tan but you have a very limited number of feet available for this machine. Some 141 can use roller foot but depends on how the machine is set up. But on the long view a compound feed / triple feed machine like the 145 or similar would be the better choice.

Many thanks for that info

The main thing that worries me is what seems to be a lack of spare parts or people selling spare parts for Pfaff in the UK and the German site is no better

I guess the other makes like Singer etc offer a far more reliable chance of getting spares

Compound foot would be nice but far outside my price range for a hobby

The Pfaff looks a ideal machine but just worried i may get a pup after a few months with nobody to service or get spares

Spare parts situation for Singer 111 type machines are for sure better than for equivalent Pfaff machines. Its not that you can´t get Pfaff parts but often you have to place special order at a Pfaff dealer and Pfaff parts are often a lot more expensive. That is one of the reasons why I try using only Singer machines though I live in Pfaff-and-Adler-Land. Yet no regret! You won´t find any other machine you find more presser feet for than for Singer 111 based machines.

Don´t get me wrong Pfaff machines are for sure top notch machines but they do not sew better than Singers. It always depends on how well a machine is maintained / set up.

Does anyone know the difference between the PFAFF 141 and the PFAFF 145?

Not much info about the 141 apart from operating hand book

I think they are both common machines with slight difference , but what is the difference

Offered a great price on the 141 and seen it sew 2 x 3mm veg tan ok which would be my max requirement, just looking for more info before i have to jump in

Pfaff 141 is a bottom+needle feed machine, the Pfaff 145 is a bottom+needle+upper feed machine.

Here's a Pfaff 141 in action. It'll give you an idea how well the machine can sew vinyl and leather material:
