SLC sof-tan vegi-tan leather

I am very new to leather crafting and purchased this leather for a project.  It is very “fluffy” on the inside. Looking for any advice on how to tame this down. Thinking about a glass slicker, but if someone has other ideas/experiences I would be grateful.

It sounds like you may have brought Chrome leather which is often used for clothes and car seats etc, most hobby and professionals use veg tan leather for a more traditional item which can be tooled  to leave a impression on the leather

I know which one you're talking about. SLC sells it.  It is listed as a veg tan.  It's one I'm very curious about and interested in.  I'm hoping Tony will see this and chime in with more specifics.

Does it have a lot of stretch?  I prefer a stretchy leather for covering cane handles.

I’m not really experienced with leather, but it doesn’t appear to be “obviously” stretchy. 

Im now home from work, and have a few pics. But can’t upload them. 

I guess because I’m a new member to the forum.  

I really like the looks of this leather. It has a grain on the face. And the back side isn’t too bad. Just looking for a way to clean it up a little.

You could slick it down with gum tragacanth. Smear on a thin coat like you were smearing butter on bread to make a sandwich. Any straight edge will do. I did a test piece on some veg tan with a piece of smooth timber.
