Members mrfixit Posted September 17, 2018 Members Report Posted September 17, 2018 I need to make myself a holster for a 4" S&W M&P 2.0 Compact 9mm. I have a pattern for a Glock 19. My question is can I use the same stitch line around the gun, or will I need to change it? The holster will be a pancake style with minimal detail molding, and a thumb break for retention. I'm much more concerned with the stitch line than the holster design itself. Similar to this: Quote
Members koreric75 Posted September 18, 2018 Members Report Posted September 18, 2018 your best bet for proper fit is if you have the gun lay it out on the pattern for the glock and see how it lines up...or if you want to be 100% sure pick up a pattern from @JLSleather on his etsy store... Quote
Members Josh Ashman Posted September 18, 2018 Members Report Posted September 18, 2018 Good suggestions above, but if you already have the M&P it's as easy as gluing the pieces together, forming it, letting it dry and then stitching it. Easier to do if you're hand stitching as you won't have the foot of your sewing machine walking around the molded portion of your holster. You'll want to edge the top and bottom where you can't get to them after assembly and do any tooling, dyeing, etc first. If a close stitch line is your top priority, you can't beat forming it first and putting the stitch line exactly where it needs to be. Good luck, Josh Quote
