Members Rustic Posted October 10, 2018 Members Report Posted October 10, 2018 Juki 1508 dropped while moving, the main shaft got pushed from right to left Approximately a quarter of an inch. Is there any way of fixing this? Quote
Members shoepatcher Posted October 10, 2018 Members Report Posted October 10, 2018 the main shaft has lock collars on it. they have to be loosen and everything repositioned to move all the op parts back to the original position. Quote
Uwe Posted October 11, 2018 Report Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) Ouch. Sounds very much like a dead Juki to me. At the very least it will never be the same again. Who knows what got bent out of spec as the main shaft got forced sideways. Edited October 11, 2018 by Uwe Quote
Members R8R Posted October 11, 2018 Members Report Posted October 11, 2018 And if the main shaft got shifted, who knows what else is out of whack? Sounds like it would need to be at least partially disassembled, each connecting part inspected, replacement parts assessed, then reassembled and tuned. If you're not a pro sewing machine mechanic, I'd imagine it's going to cost a good chunk to get it up and running again, but maybe never as good as it was. Part it out on ebay? Quote
